Friday, Sept. 11
A whole page of Tennessee! We stopped before dark in Sevierville TN, by the Little Pigeon River just outside of Knoxville. First dinner in the RV!
Saturday, Sept. 12
Pretty sweet street rod at the Flying J!
Sevierville TN to Franklin NC (not far from Asheville). I40 skirts around the Smoky Mountains National Park where you can see the larger peaks looming in the distance. Mountain rains are falling!
Our host at the RV park was a tall, congenial South African who once competed as a trophy motorcycle racer in his younger days. He entertained us with impersonations and taught us a word or two in Afrikaans, the Dutch dialect of South Africa.
Next stop: Great Smoky Mountains
